The App Bros Canada
Tell us what you're building. We'll get back to you within 24 hours.
The App Bros Canada designs, builds and launches mobile apps for businesses and founders across the country. We're the Canadian arm of The App Bros, a full-service app studio that has been building iPhone and Android apps for more than a decade.
We build native iOS apps, native Android apps and cross-platform apps that run on both from one codebase. We help startups ship a lean first version. We design apps that feel simple from the first tap. And once your app is live, we help you get it in front of the people who need it.
Our team is distributed, so we work the way most Canadian businesses already do: on video calls, shared boards and quick messages. Every project gets an App Specialist, an App Designer, a Project Manager and an App Architect, so you always know who's on it and what comes next.

We don't push one stack on every project. We start with what your app has to do, who will use it and what you want to spend. Then we pick the right way to build it.
One codebase in Flutter or React Native that runs on iPhone and Android. You reach both audiences and usually spend less. Flutter & React Native apps
Native apps built in Swift and SwiftUI for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The best choice when polish and Apple features matter most. iPhone app development
Native apps built in Kotlin and tested across the huge range of Android phones and tablets. Android app development
A lean first version with only the features that prove your idea. Launch sooner, learn from real users, then grow. Startup MVP development
User flows, wireframes, clickable prototypes and clean screens, so your app is easy to use and looks the part. App UI/UX design
Anyone can say they build apps. Here are some The App Bros team has designed, built and launched. Some run on iPhone, some on Android, and some on both.

"I am thrilled with my decision to use them as my developer. Every team member I have worked with has been informative and helpful. I feel that the cost is very reasonable for the project and process that they are managing, and I look forward to my app going live very soon. I highly recommend contacting them."
Most of our projects fall into a few familiar shapes. If your idea looks like one of these, we've likely built something close to it before.
Have something different in mind? Good. Some of our favourite projects didn't fit any box. Tell us about it at a free consultation.
It depends on what the app does. A simple app with a few screens costs far less than a marketplace with payments, messaging and an admin panel. The biggest cost drivers are the number of features, the platforms you launch on, the backend behind the app, payments, and advanced tools like maps, live chat or AI.
Most agencies make you book a call before they'll talk money. We'd rather you know the ballpark first. Here are our planning ranges in Canadian dollars:
| Budget tier | Planning range (CAD) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Idea validation / prototype | $13,500 – $21,000 | Testing the concept with a clickable prototype |
| Lean MVP | $21,000 – $42,000 | A focused first version with core features |
| Growth build | $28,000 – $71,000 | More polish, dashboards, payments, messaging and integrations |
| Custom platform | $71,000+ | Multiple user types, real-time tools, automation, compliance and scale |
These are planning ranges, not quotes. Your price depends on your features, design, backend, platforms and timeline.
Where does the money go? On most projects, planning takes 5 to 15% of the budget, design 15 to 25%, development 45 to 65%, and testing and launch 10 to 20%.

Some Canadian businesses can get back part of what they spend on an app project through programs like SR&ED tax credits, NRC IRAP or regional and provincial funds. Not every app qualifies, and most funding pays you back after you spend. Our plain-English guide explains what's out there and where to check. Read our Canadian funding guide
If your app collects personal information, Canadian privacy law applies. PIPEDA sets the rules for most private businesses. We plan for consent, data storage and user access requests from the first screen, not as an afterthought. This is general information, not legal advice. Read our privacy FAQs
A free, confidential consultation. We listen, ask good questions and put your idea on paper.
The look and feel of every screen, shared online so you can give feedback as we go.
Wireframes and a clickable prototype that show exactly how every feature works.
We build and test your app, then publish it on the App Store and Google Play.
We help you market the app and grow downloads after launch.
You don't need a business plan or a tech background to talk to us. A little prep just helps us give you a sharper answer on cost and timeline. If you can, bring:
Not sure about any of it? That's what the call is for. Your idea stays confidential, and if you'd like an NDA first, just ask.
We publish our planning ranges in CAD. No converting from US prices, and no surprises at the first meeting.
Design, development, launch and marketing happen in one place. No passing your project between three agencies.
We build in Swift, Kotlin, Flutter and React Native. We'll recommend what fits your app and budget, not what's easiest for us.
Your app gets the same team and process behind The App Bros' apps on the App Store and Google Play.
We build apps for businesses across Canada. In Ontario, we work with companies from Toronto, Mississauga and Markham to Ottawa, Kitchener-Waterloo, London and Windsor. Out west, we build for businesses in Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Calgary and Edmonton. We also serve the Prairies, from Winnipeg to Saskatoon and Regina, and Atlantic Canada, from Halifax to St. John's.
Our hours run on Eastern Time, but we book calls around yours, whether you're on Pacific Time in Vancouver or Newfoundland Time in St. John's. Wherever you are, call 1-866-767-2102 and let's talk about your app.
Most apps land between $21,000 and $71,000 CAD, and advanced platforms go past $71,000. A clickable prototype runs $13,500 to $21,000. A lean MVP runs $21,000 to $42,000. Your exact price depends on your features, platforms and backend.
A clickable prototype takes a few weeks. Most first versions take a few months from kickoff to launch, depending on how many features you need. You get a timeline in writing before any build starts.
If your users are mostly on one platform, starting there can save money. If you need both from day one, a cross-platform app in Flutter or React Native is often the smart choice. We'll help you decide at your free consultation.
For a quick prototype or a personal project, AI tools can help. For an app you plan to sell, grow or run a business on, you need custom design, a solid backend, security, and approval from the App Store and Google Play. That's where an experienced team pays for itself.
Sometimes. Programs like SR&ED and NRC IRAP support R&D and new technology, not routine app builds, and they have strict rules. Some provinces also run their own funding programs for new products. Our funding guide explains the main options. We don't apply for funding on your behalf or promise that you'll qualify.
We work with businesses across Canada in English, by video call and phone. We don't serve clients in French at this time.
